by Pastor Caleb Ogheneoyome Egwero
Foreword by Joe Praize
A timely and insightful work for pastors, worship leaders, music directors, and every heart that longs to worship God in spirit and in truth.
Music is one of God's greatest gifts to humanity. It transcends language, culture, and time — carrying the power to heal, inspire, and draw people closer to God. Within the life of the Church, music is not merely an art or a performance: it is a ministry.
A healthy music ministry glorifies God, edifies the saints, and serves as a vital instrument for worship and evangelism. Unfortunately, many music ministries today suffer from imbalance — emphasising talent over spiritual growth, and sound over substance.
Drawing from more than three decades of ministry and a wealth of scholarly training, Pastor Caleb Egwero offers practical guidance for church choirs, worship teams, and music leaders who desire to build ministries that are not only musically excellent but also spiritually healthy.
With a blend of scriptural depth and practical wisdom, the book explores how to balance skill with spirituality, passion with purity, and service with submission to God's will.
Gospel Recording Artist · Worship Leader
In a generation where the lines between performance and worship grow thinner by the day, this book arrives as a clarion call back to the heart of what church music was always meant to be — a sacred offering, a consecrated ministry, and a holy invitation for the presence of God to dwell among His people.
Pastor Caleb Egwero writes not as a theorist, but as a seasoned practitioner who has walked the corridors of ministry for over three decades. Every page carries the weight of lived experience, scholarly depth, and pastoral sensitivity. He speaks to the worship leader who has grown weary, the choir member who wrestles with comparison, and the music director searching for structure without sacrificing spirit.
What you hold in your hands is more than a manual — it is a mirror, an altar, and a map. Read it with an open heart. Let it challenge the assumptions you have carried into ministry. Let it realign your purpose with God's eternal vision for worship.
I am honoured to commend this work to every pastor, every worship leader, every musician, and every believer who longs to see the Church of Christ worship in spirit and in truth.

Building a Healthy Music Ministry is a timely and insightful work inspired by a passion to see music ministries become biblically rooted, spiritually sound, and purpose-driven. The book provides practical guidance for church choirs, worship teams, and music leaders who desire to build ministries that are not only musically excellent but also spiritually healthy. With a blend of scriptural depth and practical wisdom, Pastor Egwero explores how to balance skill with spirituality, passion with purity, and service with submission to God's will. As a thoroughbred musician and a trained minister, he is eminently qualified to write this book, which draws from his wealth of experience both in the field and in ministry.
Each chapter helps readers understand that true effectiveness in ministry is not determined by vocal strength or instrumental dexterity, but by a heart wholly surrendered to God. This book calls every choir member, instrumentalist, and worship leader to pursue intimacy with God, humility in service, and excellence in expression.
As you journey through its pages, you will be encouraged to evaluate the spiritual and structural foundations of your music ministry and rebuild them upon the eternal truths of God's Word. My earnest prayer is that this book will inspire you to serve God through music with renewed zeal, integrity, and unity — bringing glory to His name and revival to His Church.
May the Lord use this book to raise a new generation of music ministers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth.
